‘In Safe Hands’ Sculpture by Elliott Of London Being Auctioned Off To Raise Money For The NHS

Living Magazines Elliott of London NHS sculpture

‘A Creation from Isolation’, reminding our NHS and Key Workers that we appreciate their hard work – and even more during these uncertain times!

Whilst in isolation British Sculptor Charles Elliott wanted to create a sculpture that could go on show outside the Elliott of London studio. He wanted to help raise awareness for the NHS and Emergency service efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic, but also to remind key workers on their travels to keep up the hard work looking after the world.

Elliott of London was founded by British Sculptor Charles Elliott, he has helped the brand to earn themselves national and international recognition already. With their sculptures shown at various locations including at the prestigious Royal Ascot Racecourse, Hatfield House, Royal Chelsea Hospital, Bolesworth Castle, Hickstead Showground, Kings Rd Chelsea, Various Shooting Grounds and Ashridge Estate .

Each piece is initially designed and handmade by Charles and his devoted team, in their sculpture studio on the border of Buckinghamshire & Hertfordshire. Each of their sculptures shows the real movement, energy and grace of their subjects, Charles wanted each piece to see and feel life. Elliott of London always go in with a hands-on approach using various traditional and modern techniques.

The 1.25m sphere sculpture symbolises the love and care presented by our health workers, not only in the NHS but worldwide in all the different sectors.

The hands represent the true love volunteers, health workers and many others have shown throughout this recent international crisis, carrying the world through the epidemic.

Designed and Handcrafted by Elliott of London from mild steel. This piece is hot zinc galvanised initially to secure and protect the piece from nature and rust for over 30 years. “Each sail piece individually textured and finished by hand!” said Designer Charles.

The inspired sculpture is now on show in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire alongside the A41 at the Elliott of London Studio, you can see ‘In Safe Hands’ 65cm sphere illuminated blue. Elliott of London hope the key workers travelling to and from work can be reminded that we fully appreciate their support and hard work.

The 165cm x 165cm sculpture is being auctioned off to raise money for the NHS. All the proceeds from the auction sale price will go to the COVID-19 Urgent Appeal NHS Charity. The live ‘In Safe Hands’ auction will start on Friday 17 April at 9.30am to Friday 1 May at 8pm. For further information visit www.elliottoflondon.co.uk/auction.
