July Champagne Celebrations at Copper House

The word ‘champagne’ is instantly recognisable to all; the region’s fabulous wines are known throughout the world, evocative of luxury, celebration and a sign of exquisite taste. Britain in particular has had a love affair with champagne since the first Champagne house was founded in 1729, and is still the largest export market with the British buying a staggering 27 million bottles of this iconic sparkling wine throughout 2018.

Copper House, the new independent bar and restaurant located in a historic building on Berkhamsted High Street, is embracing the British love of the magical world of champagne. Throughout July they are hosting a month of champagne celebrations with opportunities to try new styles by the glass and to have some fun and win lots of champagne-based prizes along the way.

Copper House offers an extensive champagne list which showcases the vast range of styles and flavours on offer within the category of Champagne – Brut, Blanc de Blanc, Rose, Vintage Demi-Sec, – they have all these and many more cuvées for guests to try. This special celebration month is an opportunity for people to discover a new favourite fizz, or for those who haven’t yet, fall in love with the truly unique wines of champagne for the very first time.

Throughout July there is lots of fun to be had whilst enjoying this champagne celebration.

First, simply buy a bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne and you will be entered into a prize draw for a gigantic Methuselah of Moët & Chandon champagne – this is a 6-litre bottle equivalent to 8 standard size bottles of champagne. A truly magnificent prize, which Copper House will happily chill for you, as it definitely won’t fit in your fridge, (although this very large bottle will sit in your ice-filled bath if you want to host a party at home with your amazing prize of bubbly!)

Secondly, to get us all in mood for the oldest tennis championships in the world, during Wimbledon fortnight every glass or bottle of any champagne on the Copper House list will be served with a complimentary bowl of strawberries. The Copper House July celebrations would not be complete without recognising this most British of champagne combinations – tennis, champagne and strawberries, so all guests will be able to try this for themselves between 1-14 July.

Thirdly, there is a fun ‘Origami Fortune Teller’ game which will be placed on all glasses of Moët & Chandon Rose champagne purchased in July (while stocks last of course!). This game will reveal secrets about the mysterious and exciting world of champagne, and most importantly gives each person playing the game a 25% chance of winning another glass of Moët & Chandon Rose champagne right on the spot! The odds are so good, it’s definitely worth a try.
