Leighton Buzzard Railway at Easter
Sunday and Monday 5 & 6 April will see better than ever Easter festivities at the Leighton Buzzard Railway.
Two steam trains featuring sister engines Doll and Gertrude will be operating five trains along the full length of the line from Page’s Park Station to Stonehenge Works including the extension to Munday’s Hill, with the first train leaving at 10.30am.
Children can join the egg hunt at Stonehenge Works with plenty of small plastic eggs to find which can be exchanged for chocolate treats on your return to Page’s Park. (maximum 5 per child) There are also some ‘Golden Tickets’ hidden round the Works and if you find one of these it can be exchanged for a boxed Easter egg presented by the Easter Bunny on your return to Page’s Park. (Maximum one per child)
New this year for the youngest visitors is a separate search area especially laid out for under-5 visitors. The miniature railway will also be running, offering free rides in the yard.
For rail enthusiast visitors, heritage diesel demonstration freight trains will run alongside the passenger train on the Munday’s Hill extension and there will be a demonstration by our 1964 Ruston Bucyrus excavator of the type which was, for many years, the standard method of loading trains of side tipping wagons at the quarry face in Munday’s Hill Quarry.
All activities are subject to availability on the day.
