Lindengate Charity has unveiled an exciting programme of community events, outdoor theatre, family experiences and wellbeing activities for 2026, as the Wendover-based mental health charity continues to bring people together through nature, creativity and community connection.

The announcement follows the huge success of a recent fundraising event featuring legendary singer Tony Hadley, who performed an intimate acoustic set in Lindengate’s unique polytunnel setting. More than 130 guests attended the special evening, enjoying the gardens in the sunshine before an unforgettable 45-minute performance.

The event raised nearly £6,000 to support Lindengate’s ongoing work helping people experiencing mental health challenges through therapeutic gardening, conservation and nature-based wellbeing programmes.

A spokesperson for Lindengate Charity said: ‘The support we received for the Tony Hadley event was incredible and it really demonstrated the power of community coming together in a beautiful outdoor setting. Every event we host helps raise awareness and vital funds for our mental health and wellbeing work while also giving people opportunities to connect, relax and experience nature.’

Building on that success, Lindengate has announced a wide-ranging programme of events throughout the summer and autumn, including its increasingly popular ‘Rest & Refresh’ Pop Up Cafés, which take place during the charity’s Open Garden sessions.

The monthly cafés invite visitors to explore Lindengate’s six-acre therapeutic gardens and nature reserve while enjoying tea, cake and live entertainment in a relaxed outdoor setting. The next Pop-Up Café is on Saturday 20 June with live jazz music, followed by Saturday 18 July with a lively ukulele band, Saturday 15 August with a family-focused afternoon including pond dipping, honey collecting and crafts, and Saturday 19 September with live music accompanying the final café of the season.

During August, the charity will once again host its popular Nature Camps for children aged between five and twelve. Based within Lindengate’s Community and Education Hub, the camps are designed to inspire creativity, confidence and a love for the natural world through hands-on outdoor experiences. Activities include bushcraft, nature exploration, creative projects and conservation-based learning in the gardens and surrounding nature reserve. The camps will run from 3-7 August and 17-21 August from 9am-3.30pm each day.

Lindengate will also welcome back the renowned Mikron Theatre Company on Friday 5 June for an evening of open-air theatre in the gardens. Famous for their lively productions performed in unique community venues across the country, this year the company will present Top of the Wold, a heart-warming new play set aboard a quirky travelling mobile library in East Yorkshire. Guests are invited to relax in the gardens and enjoy an evening filled with live music, storytelling and comedy in the beautiful surroundings of the charity’s six-acre site.

Later in the summer, the gardens will be transformed for the August Bank Holiday Art Fair taking place from Thursday 27 August until Monday 31 August. Hosted in partnership with The Art Exhibitionists, the event will showcase a wide range of artwork displayed throughout the gardens and outdoor spaces. Visitors will also be able to enjoy live demonstrations, hands-on activities and creative masterclasses as artists take over the site for the five-day celebration of creativity and community.

In September, Lindengate will launch its new Food Future Festival as part of the charity’s developing ‘Seeds of Change’ programme. Taking place on Saturday 5 September, the event will focus on growing food, healthy eating and sustainable cooking. Visitors will be able to enjoy cooking demonstrations, kitchen garden tours, vegetable-growing advice, food tastings, firepit cooking and seasonal activities including seed sowing and apple tasting.

Alongside its programme of public events, Lindengate continues to provide direct mental health support through its Wellbeing Pathways Programme, which offers weekly small-group sessions for local people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness and other mental health challenges. Sessions combine gardening, conservation and nature-based activities in a safe and supportive environment designed to help individuals build confidence, improve wellbeing and reconnect with their local community.

Located near Wendover in Buckinghamshire, Lindengate Charity supports hundreds of adults and young people every year through therapeutic gardening and outdoor wellbeing programmes. The charity’s work is rooted in the recognised ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ framework, encouraging people to connect with others, learn new skills, stay active, take notice and give back.

The charity is encouraging local residents, families, schools, community groups and businesses to get involved by attending events, volunteering or supporting fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
