Local Charity Seeks Summer Temps

Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity are seeking short-term temporary volunteers to help in their shops across Buckinghamshire over the busy summer holiday period.

‘With summer fast approaching, we are on the lookout for short-term ‘Summer Temp’ volunteers to help us run our shops during the busy summer period and to help cover when our existing volunteers go away themselves.’ says Charmain Behan, Volunteer Manager at the charity. ‘It’s a great opportunity for those that might be back from university, in-between jobs or retired to learn new skills and to give  volunteering a try, whilst helping their local community. So, if you can spare a few hours a week between June and September, please get in touch to find out more.’

The Charity has shops based in Aylesbury, Beaconsfield, Buckingham, Chinnor, Haddenham, Hazlemere, Marlow, Thame, Wendover, and Winslow as well as an online retail team based at their Furniture Showroom in Aylesbury.

‘We’ve also got roles for those who want to volunteer on a more ad hoc basis. This could involve helping to run a stall at a local fair, marshalling at our Walk of Light or even becoming Florrie Bear for an hour or two!’
