Local Children to Take Part in Sponsored Painty Footprint Challenge

Living Magazines Painty Footprint Challenge

A group of children from Berkhamsted are set to take on a sponsored Painty Footprint Challenge this month as part of a national fundraising campaign for the Dragonfly Cancer Trust which supports children and young people in palliative care across the UK.

The sponsored challenge organised by ARTventurers Berkhamsted will take place on 19 May during their popular art classes for babies, toddlers and children run at Gossoms End Scout Hut. The children will swap their usual colourful, creative classes for special fundraising classes as part of the national ARTventurers Charity Week 2023.

Friends and family of the children will be sponsoring them to see how many painty footprints they can do in one minute and help raise money for this great cause.

One of the fantastic projects the Dragonfly Cancer Trust runs is delivering creative activity kits, sibling and memory boxes to hospitals and hospices to help children and their families at the most difficult time of their lives, providing an essential distraction during treatment as well as a form of art therapy and a chance to create precious memories together.

ARTventurers Leighton Berkhamsted franchisee and business owner Jessica Burgin, said: ‘At ARTventurers we’re so passionate about the benefits that art and creative play can offer, and this cause is one incredibly close to our hearts. We’ve set ourselves a national target of £10,000 which would fund one whole consignment of creative kits to over 50 hospitals and hospices across the UK this year and help so many children, young people and their families.’

ARTventurers run weekly art and creative play classes and parties for babies aged around 6 months upwards up to school age across the UK as well as holiday sessions and creative parties for older children too. Jess currently runs classes in Berkhamsted and is bringing classes to Tring very soon!
