Local lockdown jewellery design business gears up for Christmas

Living Magazines Latimer Designs jewellery

Berkhamsted-based Charlotte Latimer is looking forward to a busy Christmas for her new jewellery business Latimer Designs, launched during the first COVID-19 lockdown. Ex-Ashlyns student Charlotte, who has a degree from the Birmingham School of Jewellery in jewellery design and silversmithing, has a passion for creating high-quality, bespoke jewellery – ideal for those looking for that special Christmas present.

Using traditional wax carving and silversmithing techniques, Charlotte crafts original, handmade organic pieces including rings, earrings and necklaces in silver and gold.

Having spent some time abroad living in Portugal and working in London, Charlotte is enjoying being back in her home town where she hopes to build up her jewellery business and bring up her two-year-old son.

‘It was during my four years in Portugal that I really discovered myself as an artist and designer, and when lockdown came along it was the ideal time to focus my energy on creating the first Latimer Designs range,’ said Charlotte. ‘With Christmas looming and the shops still shut, there is still also time to order a special custom-designed piece of jewellery.’

Some of Charlotte’s work can be found at Home & Colonial on Berkhamsted High Street and while she puts the finishing touches to the Latimer Designs web site, her jewellery is available online through her etsy store at www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LatimerDesigns.
