Three local photographers featured their work in the Tring Local History Museum as part of a competition with Cala Homes to capture ‘Life in Tring’.

Locals were asked to share their snapshots illustrating life in the Chiltern Hills in 2022, with the winning entry and two shortlisted entries then displayed at the Tring Local History Museum in Brook Street throughout June and early July.

The winning entry was submitted by Gerald Golding, who captured the spirit of Tring Park through his photographs. As well as being featured in the Local History Museum for residents to view, Gerald received a £200 voucher to continue his passion in photography from homebuilder Cala Homes, which is creating the new Roman Park community in Tring.

Stala Thomson, Sales and Marketing Director at Cala Homes (Chiltern), said: ‘We were delighted to see the variety of submissions from those who entered our competition and would like to thank everyone that took part.

‘A lot of the entries portrayed elements Tring is well known for, such as its rich heritage and history and surrounding nature.

‘Tring has played a large role in the history books with mentions of the town in pivotal documents such as the Domesday Book. It was an honour to work alongside the Tring Local History Museum to capture the beauty of Tring.

‘We would also like to congratulate our winner Gerald Golding. His photographs really stood out as they captured the lives of locals in Tring Park.’

Tim Amsden, Society Chairman at Tring Local History Museum, said: ‘We’re proud of our role in Tring’s history as we share with locals and visitors our heritage and the important families and individuals who have lived and worked in Tring.

‘This photography competition was an excellent opportunity to see how locals see Tring through their camera lens. Thanks to Cala Homes, which provided the prize and set up costs, we were able to share these wonderful photography with the community.’
