London Luton Airport, Airport Way
Variation of Conditions 8 (passenger throughput cap), 10 (noise contours), 22 (car parking management), 24 (travel plan) and 28 (approved plans and documents) to Planning Permission 15/00950/VARCON (dated 13 October 2017) to accommodate 19 million passengers per annum and to amend the day and night noise contours.

On 6 April 2022, the Secretary of State for the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities called in the above planning application for his determination. A public inquiry has been organised by the Planning Inspectorate which will commence on 27 September 2022.

On 30 June 2002 the applicant, London Luton Airport Operations Limited, advised the Planning Inspectorate that and addendum to the Environmental Statement was intended to be submitted in order to bring the relevant baseline and forecast information up to date prior to the public inquiry’s consideration of the application.

The addendum to the Environmental Statement has now been submitted and is considered ‘any other information’ pursuant to Regulation 25 of the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017, and as such a further period of public consultation is being undertaken.

The addendum to the Environmental Statement can be viewed on the dedicated Luton Airport Public Inquiry website, hosted by Gateley Hamer at gateleyhamer-pi.com/en-gb/luton-airport/library-documents.

If you have already commented on the application, your original comments have been provided to the Planning Inspectorate and will be taken into account when the application is determined, so it is unnecessary to repeat earlier comments. If you wish to comment on the additional information that has been submitted, please ensure that your comments are received by the programme officer by 19 August 2022.

As the Council is not the determining authority, your comments should be sent to the programme officer, Mrs Joanna Vincent, who reports directly to the planning inspectors. Please send your formal comments to the programme officer at the following email address: joanna.vincent@gateleyhamer.com.
