Mental Health Charity Provides Free Course for Carers

Living Magazines Mental Health course for carers

Rethink Mental Illness in partnership with Carers In Hertfordshire are providing a free six-week online course for carers in mental health. It’s been an especially tough time for carers and this course is aimed at anyone living in Hertfordshire.

The course is facilitated by Jonathan Clack who has been a carer and mental health professional for thirty years.

Jonathan said: ‘Being a carer can be an overwhelming experience and people often feel lost and isolated within the mental health system. Our course aims to connect people with support and information along with being able to keep well themselves. Getting the basics right from the beginning can make such a difference.’

A participant from the last course told us: ‘It was a great introduction to services, also sharing experiences with other carers. It has been the first step to help our son in a better way.’

The courses run from Tuesday 31 August, 1-2.30pm and Thursday 8 September, 6.30pm – 8pm.
