Midnight Walk returns with summer solstice celebration
The much-loved Midnight Walk returns on Saturday 20 June at Roman Park, Aylesbury. Organised by Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, this special event brings the community together for an evening of remembrance, celebration, and connection, all while supporting vital hospice care. Solstice Unwind is a new feature and takes place before the Midnight Walk at Roman Park.
The Midnight Walk promises to be a magical night, as walkers gather on the summer solstice. Friends, families, and supporters will take to the streets of Aylesbury to honour loved ones and celebrate life, united under the solstice sky.
Participants will once again light up the night in colourful and creative style, with glow sticks, fairy lights, and face painting. Every walker receives a free commemorative t-shirt, and, new for 2026, light-up solstice headpieces and luminous flower crowns will be available to purchase, helping to create a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere across the town.
‘Midnight Walk is always such a special event for our community, bringing people together to remember loved ones while celebrating and supporting our Hospices,’ said Lyn Denham, Community & Events Fundraising Manager at Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. ‘This year, with the addition of our solstice theme and Solstice Unwind, we’re creating even more opportunities for reflection and connection. It’s set to be a truly memorable evening for everyone involved.’
Solstice Unwind is a calming and restorative pre-walk wellness experience, included in the entry fee for all registered Midnight Walk participants. Taking place from 7pm at Roman Park Hall, this special addition will feature professionally-led yoga, soothing sound baths, pilates and other wellness sessions plus wellbeing stalls to explore. It will offer walkers time to relax, reflect, and connect ahead of the main event. This is a connected but separately ticketed event to Midnight Walk. Solstice Unwind is free to attend (with a pre-booked Midnight Walk ticket) and the wellbeing sessions are £10 per person, however, Midnight Walk participants can book onto these expert-led sessions for £5.
The Midnight Walk remains one of the Charity’s flagship fundraising events, helping to raise essential funds to support patients and families across Buckinghamshire and its borders who rely on hospice care.
