MP opens refurbished Boxmoor barbers

Living Magazines Boxmoor Village Barbers Reopening

Hemel Hempstead MP, Sir Mike Penning, opened the newly refurbished Boxmoor Village Barbers (known as ‘The Box’) on 8 December 2018.

The shop in Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead was originally established as a barbers in 1957. The previous owner was Barry Austin who took over the business from his father. Barry has now retired, and the new owners Paul Blayney and Chris Larkin have completely refurbished the shop in order to continue to serve the locals of Boxmoor.

Sir Mike said: ‘I was very pleased to be invited to officially reopen the newly refurbished Boxmoor Village Barbers. It was great fun and Chris Larkin was very brave to let me have a go at shaving his hair. It is good to see that this valuable service in the community will continue.’

Chris Larkin said: ‘We are honoured that Sir Mike has opened our newly refurbished shop, it shows how much he supports local business.’

Paul Blayney added: ‘Such lovely people in Boxmoor, already we have had compliments on the fit out and the quality of our service.’
