Thank you to Lucie Fountain at Elementary Skin & Body in Tring for writing this article for us!
Did you know that this week is National Spa Week? Probably not! There always seems to be a national day of something on my social media feed so it can be hard to keep up. Seeing as now we have bought your attention to it, here’s some tips to help make your week a little more zen with these Spa at Home Tips:
My favourite at home treatment for aching muscles is Progressive Muscle Relaxation, a quick YouTube search will bring you up some amazing led meditations. During the meditation you will visualise your muscles and tense and release them. This works to relax the muscles helping pain to subside and relieve tension, I always think of it as giving the body permission to relax.
Wake Up Wednesday
Have you ever been in an ice cave or had a cold water plunge at a spa? Immersing yourself in cold water increases your circulation, in turn helping to improve the body’s immunity, promote weight loss and even reduce stress levels. There has been a recent study that taking cold showers can also reduce the signs of depression. So, go for it and start your day with a refreshing cold shower for a midweek boost!
Do we ever need an excuse to use a Facemask! I love Facemask Friday every week and actually picked it up from my best friend while we are at school. It takes 10 minutes to give your skin a weekly treat to keep it looking clear, hydrated and radiant. This time of year can make our skin really angry due to the changeable weather so, CACI’s Hydro Mask (£5.95 from Elementary Skin & Body) works to re-hydrate and soothe with Collagen, Hylauronic Acid and Rose Water.
And of course, for the ultimate Spa treat then book yourself some me-time! In your next Tring Living magazine [Winter issue out w/c 18 November 2019] you will find a voucher to use at Elementary Skin & Body in Tring. My recommendation is for our REN Body Treatments, they are heaven on earth and provide total relaxation and rejuvenation all in one – perfection!
