New Arts and Crafts Market for Tring

Tring Craft Market

Tring boasts two Farmers Market on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month and a weekly market held on a Friday but we didn’t have a regular Arts and Crafts Market – until now that is!

We’re sure you’ll agree, we have the most amazing High Street full of independent shops and a local community full of very creative people. So we are very pleased to announce that with effect from Saturday 4 May, an Arts and Crafts Market will be joining the list to be held on the 1st Saturday of the month at the Victoria Hall on Akeman Street to showcase those talents.

Spearheaded by Angela Hutchinson, of Angels Bespoke Creations, this project has been set up by the community for the community and, at some point in the future, the plan is also to sponsor a table for a local charity to raise funds.

Each market will have different products on offer from recycled wooden bird houses, hand woven clothing, local art, special cards, handmade jewellery, crochet, fused glass, personalised gifts, homemade macarons, this list goes on but there will be something for everyone, plus the chance to meet the makers and artists.

Tring High Street is a destination place for many who want to spend the day here visiting our museum, our lovely coffee shops, independent shops, our Markets and the odd zebra here & there… #ItsATringThing

Angela started a laser cutting and engraving business at the back end of 2023 and was looking for local outlets to sell the items she created. She put a post on the ‘Green Tring’ Facebook page to gauge interest and started to make enquiries with Tring Town Council. The response she received was all very positive.

She created a group on Facebook for organisers and vendors as well as a pages on Facebook and Instagram to promote the event to the public. She said, ‘We very quickly filled the 15 spaces for May and I only have 1 space left for June.

‘We can hopefully grow at Victoria Hall as they have more space available should we want it in the future. We’ve even got helpers who have offered their time on the day to ensure everything goes smoothly.

‘I really do hope that it becomes a monthly event in Tring that adds to our lovely town centre as well as helping local creatives.’

You can follow the page on Facebook or Instagram (called Tring Arts & Crafts Market) for market dates and updates on who will be there, and the team look forward to welcoming you on Saturday 4 May from 10am till 3pm for the first event. #MayTheFourthBeWithYou
