New Card Range at Pieces of Art

Living Magazines Pieces of Art card

Maddi Saunders from Pieces of Art in Tring tells us what she and business partner Emma Donabie have been doing during lockdown.

Like many small businesses the last few months have presented us with some difficulties. Not being able to work in the same space at the same time and home schooling three children between us has meant that our usual work routine has gone out of the window!

Luckily we have managed to continue to create and send out pieces throughout the pandemic. Thanks to our wonderful loyal customer base, we have received a steady stream of orders throughout these tricky past few months, with people particularly keen to find meaningful gifts for occasions when they can’t be there to celebrate in person.

We are so grateful to live and run a small business in such a wonderful, supportive town like Tring; we have had amazing support from the local community, from local shops promoting our products, through business groups sharing our social media posts and local people taking the time to seek out small businesses like ours to buy their gifts and cards, avoiding the long delivery times some of the larger businesses have been affected by.

During lockdown we took the time to have a declutter and sort out of the office (separately!) and take stock of how we wanted to proceed and which of the ideas we had been discussing we should focus our attention on. We decided to focus as much as was possible on finalising and expanding our personalised card range, a task we have been planning for a while but hadn’t been able to find the time to complete amidst the business of our regular working lives.

Using a mix of our established papercut designs and some new creations, we set about creating a comprehensive range of cards that cover most occasions, from new arrivals to thank you teacher cards. Our new cards have all been created from original papercuts, often multi-layered designs that have been cut, assembled and then scanned so that we can personalise and print to order.

So customers are now able to choose the papercut design of their choice and add their own or the recipients details to create a personalised card. We are also able to add a message of their choice and send the card and/or gift directly to the recipient, which is a great way to show you care from afar in these unusual times! As always, for everything on our site, postage is completely free, UK wide.
