New Head Chef at The Trooper in Aldbury
After more than a year of renovation of the historic pub, the current owners opened the Trooper in June last year.
With the appointment this summer of new Head Chef Jermaine Harriott, the Trooper is now well on its way to becoming a well-loved, established pub and restaurant, alongside the more relaxed Trooper Barn serving coffee, breakfast and brunch. Jermaine’s experience and flair is already taking the Trooper to new heights in its culinary journey.
Prior to joining The Trooper, Jermaine worked as Head Chef at the prestigious Greyhound in Beaconsfield having previously worked in some of London’s top restaurants, including the famous Langan’s Brasserie, the Royal Over-Seas League, Jason Atherton’s Michelin-starred Pollen Street Social, and Skylon. He has also worked in high-profile Manchester venues such as Mr Cooper’s at the Midland and Aiden Byrne’s 20 Stories.
His cooking style is focused on retaining the integrity of locally sourced seasonal produce, letting the ingredients speak for themselves.
They are also delighted to have been described as ‘one to watch’ and awarded a place in the Top 100 list of best local restaurants in The Good Food Guide 2024, the only venue in Hertfordshire to be awarded this accolade.
