New Reporting System Launched for Rural Communities across Hertfordshire
As part of its commitment to supporting rural communities, Hertfordshire Constabulary has launched a new section on its website dedicated to rural and wildlife crime.
The web pages contain a wealth of advice and information around the different types of crimes that affect these communities, as well as guidance on how to prevent them.
There is also a new, direct reporting system for members of the public to use.
Sergeant Alex Winning, from the constabulary’s Rural Operational Support Team (ROST), said: ‘Hertfordshire is approximately 70% rural and is spread over a 634 square mile radius, so it’s vital that we’re doing all we can to support these communities.
‘Unfortunately, research shows that a lot of rural crime often goes unreported, so we’ve introduced this new system to help make it easier for people to do so.
‘We need to know what crime is happening in rural areas so that we can allocate our resources in the most effective way. If you ever have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.’
