Old Town Hall holds first silent disco

Old Town Hall Silent Disco

A new monthly event is set to bring music, dancing and community spirit to Berkhamsted, with the Old Town Hall launching its very own silent disco on Friday 14 August.

The event has been created by the trustees of the historic building in the High Street, as part of their aim to offer more regular activities and events for the local community, making the most of the space available.

New trustee Marie Clout says they came up with the idea after noticing there are limited opportunities in Berkhamsted for people to enjoy an evening of dancing and socialising outside of professional classes.

‘Since becoming a trustee of the Old Town Hall, I wanted to run our own events regularly for the community to get the most out of the wonderful space we have,” she said. “Silent discos are proving popular in other towns, so we thought we could try it in Berkhamsted.’

The silent disco will take place on the second Friday of every month, starting on 14 August. With headphones replacing traditional speakers, guests can enjoy their favourite music while still being able to chat with friends in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The aim is to create a welcoming evening where people can meet up, have a conversation and dance freely – like no one is watching!
