Olympic gold medallist Sally Gunnell OBE to host live talk in Berkhamsted
The Berkhamsted community is invited to attend a special event with Olympic legend Sally Gunnell OBE at The Denton on 23 April. The event is especially suited to those aged 65 and over, offering practical insight and inspiration around staying active and building positive habits as you get older, in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Guests will hear first-hand from the only woman in history to have ever concurrently held all four major championship gold medals – Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European, a remarkable achievement that cemented her place in sporting history. During the event, Sally will share her journey to the top of world athletics and what it really took to get there. She will reflect on what she learned about herself through years of training, and how those experiences continue to shape her approach to fitness and everyday life today.
The conversation will also touch on the importance of maintaining health and wellbeing at every stage of life. Sally will speak about encouraging positive habits within her own family, including her parents – now in their 90s – as well as how she has navigated challenges both on and off the track.
Now a leading voice in the health and wellbeing space, Sally focuses on helping others build a sustainable and realistic approach to living well, making this an engaging talk for all ages.
The event is from 11am-1pm and is free to attend, although spaces are limited and must be booked in advance. To secure your place, please register your interest by calling 01442 946261.
A special lunch menu is also available on the day, offering soup and a sandwich for just £12 for those who would like to stay a little longer following the event.
