Open House Summer School at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

Living Magazines Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

This summer Aylesbury Waterside Theatre will be inviting theatre enthusiasts aged 5-12 years to take part in Open House Summer School from Mon 19 – Thu 22 Aug 10am-3pm. The theatre project will be delivered over four days and explore four keys areas of theatre.

Open House Summer School will give participants an introduction to performing arts, playwriting and devising, costume and props and stage combat.

Each of the four days are a stand-alone workshop meaning children can take part in their key areas of interest or attend the entire four days.

Zoë Mace, Creative Learning Delivery Partner said: ‘The Open House Summer School will give young people with an interest in theatre the chance to have lots of fun while learning new skills. From confidence building exercises to learning to harmonise, puppet and mask making to role play, lots of exciting elements will be covered. We’re welcoming a stage combat practitioner on day four who will teach unarmed stage fighting skills culminating in learning a fight sequence. It will certainly make for a different summer holiday activity!’

If you’re looking for something different to do this summer and are aged between 5-12 years, don’t miss out on this unique opportunity. Spaces are just £25 per day, or £75 for the full four days.
