Planned Roadworks in the East of England week commencing 22 October

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 19 October but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

M1 junction 6 Bricket Wood to junction 5 Watford, Hertfordshire: surfacing

Work to improve journeys by surfacing the carriageway will continue this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 22 October for seven nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via A405 westbound and A41 southbound.

M25 junction 20 Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire: bridge joint replacement

Work to improve journeys by carrying out bridge joint replacement will start this week. The clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 22 October for seven nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the exit and entry slip roads.

M25 junction 19 Watford to junction 21 (M1), Hertfordshire: joint replacement

Work to improve safety by carrying out joint replacement will start this week. The clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Saturday 27 October. A clearly signed diversion will be place via A41 and A405.

M25 junction 23 South Mimms to junction 24 Potters Bar, Hertfordshire: surfacing

Work to improve safety by carrying out surface treatments will start this week. The clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 22 October for six nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1(M) northbound, A1001 eastbound, A1000 southbound and A111 southbound.

M25 junction 23 South Mimms, Hertfordshire: improvements

Work to improve safety by carrying out road improvements will start this week. The anti-clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 25 October. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 22 and return.

M40 Swakeleys junction to 1 Denham, Buckinghamshire: survey works

Work to improve safety by carrying out survey works will start this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Saturday 27 October for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Swakeleys roundabout, B483 and A4020 to Denham roundabout.

M40 junctions 1 to 15: routine maintenance

Routine maintenance works include of slip roads and through junctions with two lanes. Works include sweeping, drainage cleaning, litter picking, vegetation cutting, white lining, street lighting maintenance, defect repair (including street lighting defects), inspection of the assets including structures and safety fence repair.

These works will continue until late November, over subsequent nights from 8pm, with planned re-opening times 7am on weeknights and 8am on weekends.
