Popular walking fundraiser returns this summer
Hertfordshire homelessness charity, DENS, has announced its Castle Walk fundraising event, taking place on Sunday 14 June 2026.
Walkers can choose between 5- or 10-mile routes, winding through the stunning local countryside and woodland – both starting and finishing at the iconic Berkhamsted Castle.
This family-friendly event, which also welcomes dogs, has previously hosted hundreds of participants, ranging from seasoned hikers to those enjoying a peaceful stroll.
Expect a fantastic community atmosphere, breathtaking views and a finisher’s token to commemorate the day.
All funds raised will help DENS prevent and alleviate homelessness, poverty and social exclusion – with local services including safe accommodation, employment and skills coaching, and a foodbank.
Charlotte McCarthy, Senior Community & Events Fundraiser at DENS, said: ‘There’s nothing quite like the Castle Walk to kickstart the summer. When our first walkers gather at the castle, there’s such excitement and positivity in the air. It’s always a highlight of the season for us, and we can’t wait to share that energy with the community once again.’
Affordable entry options are on offer, including a discounted family ticket.
