Relax… it’s just panto
Cheddington Panto Group’s panto for 2026 is Dick Whittington.
This year the group is adding into its schedule a relaxed performance for anyone who might find the usual theatre setting overwhelming. The lights and sounds will be adjusted and the atmosphere will be more easy-going, with audience members being able to move around or take a break if they need to, and not being required to sit in silence.
‘We think that the magic of panto should be experienced by all,’ said panto producer Lisa Mellish. ‘By making these small changes we are giving everyone the opportunity to get involved in all the fun and joy that panto offers, and making everyone feel welcome.’
With the help of his trusty cat, Bess, Dick Whittington will take on King Rat and his growing army, meet the Fitzwarrens, and have a legendary adventure.
Dick Whittington is at Cheddington Village Hall from 19-22 February. The relaxed performance is on Thursday 19 at 3pm. There are 1pm and 5pm performances on Friday and Saturday, and at 1pm on Sunday.
