Snap and walk with CPRE Herts
2026 marks 100 years of CPRE, the countryside charity, and its work to protect the English countryside.
To celebrate this important milestone, CPRE Hertfordshire is promoting its self-guided walks through a Walk 100 Miles challenge.
The challenge aims to raise funds to continue CPRE’s work protecting Hertfordshire’s countryside for generations to come.
There are three dozen walking routes covering the breadth of the county’s countryside, all specially chosen for their beautiful views and unique landscapes.

CPRE Hertfordshire is also launching a photography competition to celebrate the area’s beautiful green spaces.
Whether it’s capturing the peaceful waterways of our unique chalkstreams and rivers, the stunning scenery of the Chilterns National Landscape or the beauty of our ancient woodlands, the competition encourages everyone to explore, appreciate and celebrate Hertfordshire’s countryside.
