The biggest Easter Bunny worked hard at Leighton Buzzard Railway this weekend

Leighton Buzzard Railway DOLLHS by Ryan Daniels

Despite the earlier threat from Storm David to spoil things, Easter activities at the Leighton Buzzard Railway on Sunday and Monday were a great success with over 600 people joining in the Easter activities at Page’s Park Station.

The Children’s Egg Hunt at Stonehenge Works was well supported with the biggest Easter Bunny in Bedfordshire kept extremely busy on each train’s return to Page’s Park exchanging plastic eggs for chocolate treats and golden tickets for boxed easter eggs.

The new separate search area for the youngest visitors was declared a great success and will certainly be retained for next year.

Railway volunteers are now looking forward to the next family event on Sunday 19 April when the Model Railway Show comes to Page’s Park.

Ten model railway layouts will be exhibited in the community room, and the engine shed. These include live steam from the Eaton Bray 16mm group,

Admission is free to railway passengers with a small charge for those who just want to see the models.

Plans are also being made for the early May Bank Holiday weekend with the ever-popular Teddy Bear’s Picnic on Sunday 3 and Monday 4 May when children who bring their teddy bears for a day out can travel free.
