The Very Lazy Sundays

Living Magazines The Very Lazy Sundays single cover

Could a band of local boys from Tring be about to hit the big time? They certainly hope so!

The Very Lazy Sundays have just released their debut single, Sometimes a Broken Heart, with producer Adrian Hall (Black Eyed Peas, Stevie Wonder) and are hoping to release an album next year.

‘In the last few months we’ve played to thousands of people at festivals, and serenaded an intimate audience of one – who just happened to be Keith Wilkinson from Squeeze,’ says band member, George Harvey.

Speaking of band members, the band is made up of: lead singer Diyar Abdullah; guitarist George Harvey; Pete White who plays the cajon and is a backing singer; and bassist Duncan ‘Dunk’. All of them write the songs and admit their music has hugely diverse influences, from hip-hop through to Simon & Garfunkel.

If you’d like to hear them play live, they’re playing at the David Evans Court Theatre on Sunday 8 December. You can purchase tickets from Beechwood Fine Foods or at the Court Theatre, visit www.courttheatre.co.uk.
