The Vyne debuts dance and music festival
The Vyne Theatre, Berkhamsted, will present its first summer dance and music festival – including international ballet stars – in July and August.
Corinna Chute, director of The Vyne Theatre, describes the festival as an exploration of the profound synergy between dance and music. ‘The programme is designed to be inclusive, welcoming participants of all skill levels, from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals,’ she said.
‘The festival’s training and workshops reflect the diverse range of styles seen on national stages, including ballet, jazz, tango, flamenco, and street dance. Attendees will learn from and witness performances by world-class guest artists alongside emerging talent.’
The festival starts with the Vyne Ballet Competition (16-17 July), presenting classical and neo-classical choreography. Next is the Acosta Dance Foundation Showcase (18 July), with students training under Cuban ballet legend Carlos Acosta.
Other highlights include a tango workshop (25 July), street dance classes, and a Dance Kicks showcase with a live DJ (1 August).
Younger dancers are catered for in a summer dance youth week (3-7 August). A summer ball (6 August) is the mid-festival social highlight.
Vocational students benefit from the intensive summer training (17-26 August) with the Ballet Vyne Company and world-renowned coaches.
The 2026 Ballet Vyne Gala Season (27-30 August) will present traditional as well as newly commissioned works with star guests from one of the UK’s most prestigious ballet companies performing alongside the Ballet Vyne Company.
