Third Place for Berkhamsted Writer in International Prize

An English writer has come third in a prestigious international writing award.
Thomas Patel from Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire has been awarded third prize in The Paul Cave Prize for Teenage Fiction 2024 for his 5,000 word story, The Spirit Train.
I cursed myself as I missed the train. How could I be so stupid? Looking at the display board, I had at least an hour before the next one arrived and that was already delayed. Plus, I wasn’t sure whether my ticket would let me catch a later train and even if it did, I’d have a two-hour journey to Yorkshire and no seat reservation. Fun times. Mum and Dad will be pleased.
Thomas will receive £25 and a copy of The Paul Cave Prize for Teenage Fiction 2024. First prize goes to Daan Spijer from Australia for It’s An Ill Wind. He receives £100 and a copy of the book. Second prize goes to Nathaniel Tok from America for Silent Love. He receives £50 and a copy of the book.
The book of short stories – The Paul Cave Prize for Teenage Fiction 2024 – is available in ebook, paperback and hardback, from Amazon.
The prize will return in 2026. More information can be found at: tsaunderspubs.weebly.com.
