Travelling Abroad? Don’t Get Left Behind

Living Magazines Travelling abroad Covid-19 vaccination

If you’re dreaming of sunny skies and heading abroad, now is the time to make sure you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

If you’re planning to travel outside of the UK, being fully vaccinated will give you the best chance of being allowed to visit the places you want to go.

Lots of countries and overseas territories require people to have COVID vaccinations and take COVID tests before they enter, and rules can change at short notice if there is an increase in cases. Don’t get caught out – plan your trip in advance, get your vaccinations up to date before you travel and keep your options open.

To help get the message out to Hertfordshire and west Essex residents, the NHS is using Snapchat and targeted search engine advertising to reach younger people planning their summer holidays.

Dr Rachel Joyce, from the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System said: ‘Many places ask you to prove that you’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19 before you can enter the country, so if you haven’t had your first, second or booster jab yet, please don’t put it off. Having your jabs now will make sure you’re able to have a spontaneous city break, a well-deserved holiday with friends or that long-awaited reunion with overseas family later in the year.

‘To make sure you’re not left behind, book the COVID-19 vaccinations you need now online or by ringing 119, or find a convenient walk-in session where you don’t need an appointment. It’s quick and easy to protect yourself and secure your future travel plans.’
