Trees and trainers at 44th Ridgeway Run

Tring Running Club hosts its 44th Ridgeway Run this October.

The 15km trail race showcases some of the very best local trails, taking runners through the countryside surrounding Tring and along sections of the Ridgeway on Sunday 11 October.

This year, the club is committing a portion of the event’s proceeds to planting 200 trees through the Trees not Tees initiative.

They will also be collecting old running shoes and sending them to JogOn – an organisation that sends trainers, running shoes and football boots around the world to those who need them – to prevent them from ending up in landfill.

Established in 1982, the run starts on the outskirts of Tring and gradually ascends into the Ashridge Estate, past the Bridgewater Monument, takes in a stretch of the famous Ridgeway path and Pitstone Hill before descending back along quiet paths into Tring and finishing at the Cricket Club.

Online entry is open until midday on Saturday 10 October.
