A brand-new, Tring-based business is aiming to help busy parents by providing low-stress, low-waste reusable children’s party kits for hire in a range of modern, fun and stylish themes.
Little Kits, which launched in January this year, curates complete party decor to hire in just one click. Every item is handcrafted or individually sourced and completely reusable, with no tat, no plastic and no waste – just a beautifully unique party to be proud of in no time.
The company currently has six children’s themes available – Heroes Unite!, Blast Off!, Rainbow Dreams, Enchanted Picnic, Wizard’s Banquet and Dino Safari. Each kit contains a handmade decorative backdrop with Happy Birthday bunting, handmade themed bunting, bamboo crockery, tablecloth, placemats, food display items, table decorations/centrepieces and food labels – all matching the given theme.
In keeping with the government’s Rule of Six restrictions, the current kits cater for six guests and can be set up for a sit-down party tea or as a cake/food table. The entire kit costs just £55 to hire, with free delivery and collection within Tring, Berkhamsted and the surrounding areas. Handovers are carried out within Covid-19 guidelines and all items are thoroughly cleaned between bookings. Food is not included.
Little Kits also offers a number of ‘Little Extras’ to make parents’ lives even easier. Little Kits Create boxes (£9.50) offer a wonderful alternative to the usual party bags full of plastic throwaway items. Each child can be given a pre-boxed crafting activity in keeping with the party theme, including Create your own Dreamcatcher, Create your own Solar System and Create your own Dinosaur Safari.
Little Kits Treats (£3.50) are handmade canvas pouches filled with sweets, while Little Kits Play provides a range of party games to hire in keeping with each theme to keep the children entertained throughout. The company also offers a personalised digital invitation (£5) to match each of its six themes.
The duo behind the new business, Beth Roberts and Natalie Lynn, are working mothers with two young children each. Little Kits was born from a knowledge of just how stressful and time-consuming it can be to plan and put together a themed children’s party, but also a desire to try and reduce the amount of waste produced from disposable party items. Their aim is to lessen pre-party stress and reduce post-party waste, providing a complete kit that is delivered the day before the party and collected the day after.
Beth Roberts, Little Kits co-founder said: ‘Nat and I met through NCT when we had our eldest children, so we have a solid six years’ experience in planning and putting together kids parties and we know that it can be a very stressful and exhausting experience for many parents. We’ve both spent hours trawling the internet to pull parties together in the past, only to be left with black bags full of wasted, one-use plastic and rubbish at the end of it. With Little Kits, we do all the hard work so busy parents don’t have to and we ensure that everything in our kits is reusable so nothing is thrown away.
