Tring Businesswoman Brings Food Festivals Home

Living Magazines Caroline Stranders - Taste Treats Founder

Tring businesswoman, Caroline Stranders, has launched Taste Treats, a new monthly subscription box targeted at discerning foodies up and down the country. The boxes are just the ticket for anyone missing roaming fragrant food stalls, tasting delicious morsels of artisan fare and supping the odd beverage or two.

Like many local businesses, Caroline found her thriving food and drink sampling business (The Taste Tree) struggling when live events such as food festivals and other retail sampling opportunities were cancelled at the beginning of the pandemic. Quick-thinking Caroline, who has 20 years’ experience in the food and beverage industry, spied an opportunity that would allow her clients to continue getting their food products in front of the right audiences via a monthly subscription service delivering direct to consumers doorsteps. The idea for Taste Treats was born.

Caroline explains: ‘When I found I couldn’t promote my clients’ products face-to-face anymore; it was a real blow. The way we discover new food and drinks has had to change, and I’m so proud to have come up with a way of meeting this challenge. Taste Treats ticks all the boxes. Our foodies receive a themed box every month filled to the brim with a surprise selection of exciting new food and drink samples carefully chosen from a variety of household name brands, artisan producers and independent creators.’ Taste Treats enjoyed a successful ‘soft launch’ before Christmas with nearly 300 boxes delivered to UK homes already.

Each Taste Treat box promises its recipients will ‘discover deliciousness’. Featuring eight to ten brands with accompanying tasting notes, foodies can expect to find everything from sweet and savoury snacks, crackers, deli dips and nibbles through to wine, cocktails and more. Not only that, subscribers will have access to exclusive recipes, tips, foodie news and special discounts. Priced at £16.95 per box (incl. delivery), or just £14.40 for subscribers, recipients will be able to keep up to date with all the latest launches and trends from the world of food and drink.

February’s Taste Treats box is aptly themed ‘Love & Pancakes’, and will feature a range of deliciously sweet and savoury surprise treats especially for Valentine’s, while local foodies will be pleased to hear March’s box is themed ‘The Chilterns’ and features a selection of scrummy local delicacies. Sign up at www.tastetreats.co.uk to ‘discover deliciousness’ right on your doorstep.
