Tring Park Students Celebrate Iconic Characters for World Book Day

Living Magazines Tring Park School World Book Day 2023

Teaching staff and pupils at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts have come together to celebrate their shared love of books and performing for this year’s World Book Day 2023.

With the likes of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, The Cat in the Hat, Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson, Violet from Series of Unfortunate Events, Bellatrix Lestrange, Peter from The Detective Dog, and Tom from Beast Quest!, the school’s prep department, which includes students from 6 to 11 years old, went all out to showcase their favourite characters and emphasise the important link between literacy and the arts.

Amanda Deer, Head of Tring Park Prep, comments: ‘As a dual education school, we are passionate advocates of both literacy and the arts. We witness first-hand the importance of promoting a love of reading from a young age, with children gaining the skills to develop their creativity for use not only in their vocational training, but also to support their academic studies. We are delighted to see so many popular characters come to life today – perhaps it may even inspire some of the students’ future performances.’

Tring Park School for the Performing Arts boasts alumni such as Hollywood stars Lily James and Daisy Ridley and is proud of its students currently performing in popular theatre shows such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Frozen and Annie.

Tring Park prep is hosting an open day on 16 March, for any students in years 3 to 6 who are interested in joining the school. For more information please visit: www.tringpark.com/event/prep-open-morning.
