Tring swimmers dive in with fantastic new equipment
On Sunday 5 July, Tring Swimming Club is running a long distance event with swimmers taking part in 400m, 800m and 1,500m events.
This will be the first club event run at the Tring Sports Centre using brand new starting blocks which were purchased by the club after an excellent fundraising effort. The new competition-standard blocks, which cost over £10,000, will be of huge benefit to swimmers in the area for many years to come.
Tring Swimming Club is extremely grateful to Community Action Dacorum, Tesco Stronger Starts and Sports England as principal sponsors for their generous support in enabling the purchase of this fantastic equipment, as well as to the many individuals who have contributed through cake sales, raffles and other donations.
Tring Swimming club will welcome Councillor Carol Nutkin, the Town Mayor of Tring; Nicola Rix, the President of Swim England Hertfordshire; and Loretta Anderson from Community Action Dacorum to an official ribbon-cutting ceremony before the swimming gets underway.

This marks another great step forward as we strive to provide the best possible support to all our swimmers.’
Tring Swimming Club is always open to new members and offers a fun and friendly environment to build a love of swimming.
Professional coaches carefully guide each swimmer’s development, in squads providing consistent support and encouragement, giving swimmers every opportunity to compete alongside the best clubs and swimmers in Hertfordshire, East of England and nationally.
As well as competing in leagues in Hertfordshire and the National Arena Swimming league, the club attends open meets throughout the year which are open to everyone.
The club welcomes swimmers aged 7 and upwards who have reached stage 5/6 in swimming classes and would like to continue swimming. They also offer the opportunity to join the academy at a reduced cost while also continuing with lessons to aid a smooth transition.
