The scene was set – Santa’s Grotto and the Reindeer were in place at the Memorial Garden and the lights were all set to come on at dusk. The lovely Christmas stalls were in situ on the High Street and in Victoria Hall. The main stage had arrived 9am and was all ready to go as were the other 3 stages/event areas. Christmas in Tring was upon us! Luckily the rain ended before the event properly started.

Victoria Hall was home to all the Christmassy type stalls and along Tring High Street were lots of local stalls, charity stalls plus food and drink for everyone. The funfair was a hit at the top of the High Street and Tring’s shops were open late to encourage visitors, shining brightly with their new Christmas lights.

The Zebra Radley stage on Church Square was host to Tring’s various dance groups plus Tring Music Partnership’s Phoenix Big Band and Tring School’s The Jokerz.

Akeman Stage had lots of local music makers all night and the St Peter & St Paul church stage was full of school and local choirs/music groups plus Zebra Jazz Collective.

Whitchurch and New Moon Morris danced in Dolphin Square followed by Tring Tones choir, an acoustic duo and the newly formed Tring Community Orchestra.

The Christmas Festival is a showcase for local businesses, charities and talent.

Tring’s annual Christmas Festival is a feat of many resource hours, lots of volunteers and heaps of co-ordination. Tring Together are blessed to have lots of lovely volunteers who are happy to man the road closures, Memorial Garden gates and Victoria Hall as well as the all the stages.

Tring Together extends a huge thank you to the Tidy Tring Team who kept the streets clean this year – on Sunday you couldn’t tell there had been a festival of 8000+ people the night before.

Funding from Tring Town Council, Dacorum Borough Council, Hertfordshire County Council and Tesco Groundworks helped towards this fantastic event, and a special mention to Cardo who provided the free gifts for Santa’s Grotto again this year.
