Volunteer Mentors Required

Are you an empathetic and understanding person who has a spare hour each week to make a positive difference in a young person’s life? If so, MCR Pathways is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join its team as a mentor.
MCR Pathways is an award-winning mentoring charity that is dedicated to addressing inequality in education outcomes, career opportunities, and life chances for care-experienced young people and those experiencing disadvantage.
The Young Talent programme has been in place in Hertfordshire since the end of 2021 and is currently working in 11 schools in the county: Stevenage, Hertford, Cheshunt, Hemel, Watford and Tring.
As a volunteer mentor, you will:
- Meet with your young person for one hour each week in their school between 9am-3pm for at least one year.
- Be empathetic, kind, open-minded, non-judgemental, friendly, approachable, understanding, patient, committed and reliable.
After applying, you’ll have a one-to-one conversation to help MCR Pathways create meaningful mentor-mentee matches. Following that, you’ll receive training to learn essential mentoring tips. You’ll be matched with a young person in a nearby school based on shared interests and life experiences.
If you are ready to make a difference in a young person’s life, register today on mcrpathways.org where you will also find more information, or please contact Peter Hopkins (peter.hopkins@mcrpathways.org, 07483 950797) with any questions.
