Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity’s much-loved Walk of Light event will take place at Waddesdon Manor on Friday 13 June from 6.30pm. The Walk of Light brings the community together in support of local hospice care. Participants celebrate the lives of loved ones while walking in the stunning grounds of Waddesdon Manor.

Walkers can choose between 5km and 10km routes, both winding through the Manor’s picturesque landscape. Upon returning, participants can cheer on fellow walkers at the finish line and enjoy a heartfelt closing ceremony as the summer sun sets.

A special feature of the event will be the ‘Remembrance Lanterns’, where walkers can write personal dedications to honour loved ones or express gratitude to the Hospice team. These illuminated lanterns will create a moving and memorable display during the closing ceremony.

‘Our Walk of Light is a cherished tradition, deeply valued by our community,’ says Lyn Denham, Community & Events Fundraising Manager for the Charity. ‘It’s a wonderful event that highlights the significant impact our Hospice has across Buckinghamshire and its borders. Hosting it at Waddesdon Manor is a true privilege, and we’re eagerly anticipating a beautiful walk and a breathtaking lantern display in a magnificent setting.’

Tickets are currently available at the New Year’s Resolution Rate, the lowest price offered – more than half off the full price. This special rate is available until 14 February.

Participants will receive a free commemorative Walk of Light 2025 T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, and the option to take their Remembrance Lanterns home after the ceremony.

Two years ago, the event raised over £35,000 for the Hospice. With this year’s event taking place at Waddesdon Manor, hopes are high for an even greater figure with all profits supporting hospice care across Buckinghamshire and its borders.
