WheelPower Announce New Title Sponsor for Tour de Vale
WheelPower, the national charity for wheelchair sport are delighted to announce that Aylesbury-based radio station Bucks Radio will become the new title sponsor for the Tour de Vale Charity Bike Ride in 2022.
Since 2003, the Tour de Vale Charity Bike Ride has raised in excess of £850,000 for WheelPower, supporting disabled people of all ages to lead healthier and more active lives through sport.
The Tour de Vale is a community-driven event, supported by volunteers, local sponsors and the people of Aylesbury and surrounding areas who have made it as successful as it is today. In previous years it has seen up to 2,000 riders enjoy the three different routes and in 2022, alongside new sponsors Bucks Radio they hope this year’s event will be the biggest yet!
Jo Hall, WheelPower Event Organiser adds, ‘Since our very first ride a truly fantastic amount of funds has been raised from the Tour de Vale, supporting the life-changing work of WheelPower. It is more than just a bike ride, and by taking part and cycling together you too can help us transform disabled lives through sport. In 2022 we are returning to our usual June calendar date and are delighted to welcome Bucks Radio as our new title sponsor. Together we hope to deliver a fantastic Tour de Vale for all of our riders, supporters and the local community who love this event just as much as we do.’
Nathan Cooper, co-founder of Bucks Radio said, ‘At Bucks Radio, supporting local charities is really important to us and our listeners, and we are delighted to be part of one of the biggest events on the Aylesbury calendar.
‘We know how important the Tour De Vale is to both the charity and those who enjoy taking part, and with WheelPower being our Charity of the Month for March, this is the perfect partnership. Our team will be pedalling for pounds, and we look forward to seeing you all there.’
Martin McElhatton, WheelPower Chief Executive concludes, ‘The Tour de Vale Charity Bike Ride is WheelPower’s biggest fundraising event of the year and we are delighted that it attracts families, club cyclists, and hand cyclists from our local community here in Buckinghamshire and beyond. We are hugely proud of the Tour de Vale and I would like to thank Bucks Radio for joining us on this journey in 2022.
‘The money raised this year will help us to support disabled people through the return of our in-person sports events and online fitness programmes. By providing these opportunities, WheelPower helps disabled people to achieve their goals, discover a love of sport and exercise, and see a positive future.’
