Wild About Wool returns to Chiltern Open Air Museum
A celebration of traditional wool crafts is set to return to Chiltern Open Air Museum in Chalfont St Giles on 10 and 11 October. The Wild About Wool event welcomes visitors for a weekend of hands-on sessions and demonstrations.
Visitors can discover the important role knitting played on the Home Front through a First World War knitting display, as well as see a sock knitting machine in action. There will be opportunities to take part in have-a-go knitting and crochet sessions, learn about the art of wet felting, and meet the museum’s knowledgeable crafting team.
Working sheep dogs will demonstrate how they manage the museum’s flock of Oxford Down sheep showcasing traditional rural skills.
On Sunday only, visitors can enjoy traditional spinning demonstrations and live country music.
The event is suitable for the whole family. For full event details and admission information, visit www.coam.org.uk.
