Witness Appeal Following Serious Assault in Hemel Hempstead

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Hemel Hempstead are appealing for information and witnesses.

It happened on Galley Hill, in the Gadebridge area, at approximately 11.30pm on Friday 28 May.

The suspect and the victim, both men, allegedly became involved in a verbal altercation outside the Gade and Goose pub.

The altercation became physical before the suspect allegedly threw a glass bottle at the victim’s head which smashed, causing lacerations to his face and forehead.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and he has since been discharged.

Detective Sergeant Paul Wadsworth, who is investigating, said: ‘We believe there may have been others who witnessed the assault, and we are keen to speak to anyone who has information about this incident but has not yet spoken to us.

‘In particular, if you live in Fennycroft Road or Raybarn Road and you have a doorbell camera or CCTV system fitted to your property, please review your footage and get in touch with us if you have captured anything you believe could be linked to our investigation.’

A 26-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead has been arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm (Section 18) in connection with the incident. He is currently in police custody.
