DENS Hillbuster a Great Success

Living Magazines Quanta Finish line DENS Hillbuster

Hemel’s legendary Hillbuster cycling sportive was back in town on Sunday for the 4th year, Gadebridge Park was awash with 600 cyclists taking on a gruelling 60 & 100 km challenge over the Chiltern Hills and surrounding villages. This fundraiser, organised by local charity DENS, was hailed a great success, raising over £25,000 for people facing homelessness and poverty.

Wendy Pearson, part of Team Quanta from Berkhamsted, had a great time: ‘We absolutely smashed the 60k bike ride this weekend, as well as smashing our target too. We’re really proud that we’ve raised over £1100 for DENS – an organisation which is very close to the hearts of everyone here at Quanta Consultancy Services. It was a fantastic event, the volunteers were so friendly and helpful and the route was beautiful. We would have been quicker if we hadn’t spent so much time at the amazing Food Station half way on the course, I think I ate more than I burned!’

Nicky Maxwell-Braithwaite, Events Manager at DENS says ‘We’d like to thank all the cyclists who came out in force to Do it For DENS! We are thrilled with the amount we’ve raised so far; £25,000 will pay for a Day Centre Worker to provide advice and support to our service users for eight months. Come and join us at our next event on 22nd June – The Castle Walk – a perfect summer family day out.’
