Tring Park School celebrates A Level success

Tring Park School for the Performing Arts is celebrating another year of outstanding A Level achievements for its talented students. The students have once again surpassed national benchmarks, with over 62.8% securing A*-B grades, compared with the UK national average of 55.8%, and 84.4% securing A*-C grades, compared with the UK national average of 78.4%. This is a testament to the way the school blends rigorous academic study with world-class vocational training.

As one of the leading performing arts schools in the UK, Tring Park enables young people to grow into well-rounded, driven individuals equipped for exciting futures in both the arts and wider professions. Among the standout students this year are Adam Hancocks and Luc Townend, who both achieved three A* grades.

Lois Ashcroft, Academic Director, expressed her delight at the Sixth Form cohort’s achievements again this year: ‘These results paint the perfect picture of how creative, disciplined, and passionate our students are in everything they do. Balancing their academic goals with significant vocational commitments requires extraordinary focus, and we couldn’t be more proud of their achievements.’

She also praised the school’s dedicated staff: ‘I would like to highlight my colleagues’ commitment to each and every student, which makes results like these possible. I’m incredibly grateful for their constant hard work and dedication.’

Many other students are now stepping into exciting new chapters, whether through higher education, vocational training, or directly into professional work. Courses include Acting, English, Film and Television, Journalism, Law and Criminology, Marketing, Musical Theatre, Physics, Politics, Philosophy and Popular Music.

Elizabeth Odell, Director of Studies, shares her pride in the successes this year: ‘The A Level students’ achievements this year prove how well our bespoke curriculum works here at Tring Park. We nurture both academic and performance skills, ensuring our young people are ready for whatever they choose to do next. I’m excited to see where their journeys now take them and look forward to welcoming the next generation of talent this September.’

It’s an exciting time for Tring Park School, as its new Principal, Andrew McGarva will begin his role in September. Andrew brings impressive leadership experience spanning boarding, day, single-sex, and international schools, as well as previous roles as Director of Music at three schools.

Also from September, the school will be offering three of its vocational courses for Sixth Form, accredited by the University of the Arts London (UAL) Awarding Body. The UAL Level 3 Diplomas will be in Performance and Production Arts for the Acting and Musical Theatre courses, and in Music Performance and Production for the Commercial Music course. These intensive two-year qualifications combine practical training with project-based learning, enabling students to develop the creative, technical and professional skills needed to progress to higher education or careers within the performing arts.
